Drumroll please…
It is finally time for us Castalians to crack open the Champagne and announce, with tremendous excitement, that Natalie Loughran is our new violist! Our first official concert together will be at the Wigmore Hall on May 13th and we hope as many of you as possible can join us there to celebrate!
Natalie hails from Philadelphia and having won the 2021 Primrose International Viola Competition has been dividing her time between New York and the Kronberg Academy in Germany. We couldn’t be happier that she has decided to settle in London! She writes: “I could have only dreamed of a musical and personal match like this. I feel honoured to add my voice to the Castalians and look forward to many more musical adventures together.”
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ruth Gibson for a fantastic few years together. Although it’s always sad to say ‘goodbye’ we know new avenues and opportunities (and a new addition to the family!) has meant it’s the right time for her to move onto a new chapter.
Ruth says, “It has been an incredible time with the Castalian String Quartet and I couldn’t be more grateful for the music making and time travelling the world sharing the extraordinary music with them all.”
